Lunch time discoveries...

The weather seems to be improving day by day, which is a good enough incentive to venture out for walk at lunch time. At the end of last year, I changed jobs which equals exciting new challenges, but also the chance to discover another part of London. Watch out for photos from Fitzrovia, Camden and Regent's park.

Finally in concert...

After years of listening to his music and seeing them picturised on the big screen, a small group of us went to see A R Rahman in concert at the Wembley Arena in London; and what an amazing experience. The production was very well organised and catered to old and new fans. I was particularly excited to hear songs from Roja, Humse hai muqbala and Rangeela. A surprisingly exciting evening with equally enthusiastic fans like myself. It's great to be able to tick this off my list of performers to see live....

Serpentine Gallery: Summer Pavilion

A group of us went see to the Serpentine Gallery's summer pavilion last weekend which is designed by world-renowned French architect Jean Nouvel. When you first stand next to the structure, you are initially struck by the sheer size and the intense red which contrasts really well with the greens and browns surounding it. If you are in London between now and October be sure to check it out.

hello...where have I been? and what's been happening?

Well, it all started in March. My landlord of nearly four years announced his plans to sell the house and so gaves us our two months, which was truly heartbreaking to hear. This news certainly sent me in a titz, as I had always imagined living there for much longer and had grown very fond of the house (fell instantly in love with it). Anyhow, I decided to adopt the "change is good" motto, any so began the perilous task of trying to find a new home not a house, but some where that I could call my home.

I called in favours from friends and colleagues to help me with my search. I managed to find a lovely flat literally two weeks before I had to moved out. My new flat mate has a cat and I have suddenly turned into a cat person (watch out for photos of Ezra)!

I finally moved in at the end of May and within a month or two of moving in, held a super summer flat party co hosted with my new flat mate Geoff. Despite moving from one zone to another zone in London, I still managed to keep up with going to gigs, seeing exhibitions, eating at new places and watching new films, which have included some of the following:

• Imogen Heap, Temper Trap and The Gotan Project in concert
• Caught the Penn Portraits and the Indian Photography exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery
• Whip it, Nanny McPhee the sequel (a guilty pleasure), The Losers, Greenberg, Kiss Ass, Hot Tub Time Machine - to name a few of the films I've caught
• Went to see a play called The Ditch at The Old Vic Tunnels (underneath Waterloo Railway Station) and
• discovered a very cute place in Soho has serves street food from Beirut - yummines

And finally, now that I'm pretty settled, I hope to post regularly. Have a lovely summer.

3 miles in 35minutes

Two months ago a friend and I thought it would be a good idea to enter into a charity run. I for one had never done such a thing before and thought why not. The training took a little time to get started, but managed to do at least two days of exercise per week (could have done a little more). As the weeks speeded by, the realisation of was in store had started to sink in. Nevertheless, here I am writing this post clearly having completed the run. I'm proud to say we managed to do the run in 35minutes - not bad for a first timer. Below, are some photos from today.

Highlights from February | 10

Highlights from February included going on a walking expedition (thanks to google maps) to find the Design Museum. It was my first visit and I thoroughly enjoyed myself walking around the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year.

1. Valentine's Day - It was as bad as thought it was going to be - Hollywood studios sometimes really get love wrong, 2. A Single Man - A beautiful, poignant film, with heartbreakingly good performances from both Colin Firth and Julianne Moore, 3. Youth in Revolt - a quirky, funny coming of age film, 4. The Wolfman - great gothic visuals, but that's all film it had going for it (I'm being polite) and 5. Micmacs - from the director of Amelia and billed as being equally quirky, but unfortunately it wasn't so....

Highlights from January | 10

The start of a new online project, with this post I hope to highlight some of the fun things I do each month. I found myself quite busy last month with going to the pictures, catching a play and going to an exhibition.

My week would not be complete without watching at least one film. One friday after work, I managed squeeze in two films - which I have to admit was pretty exhausting. Anyway, the photos

of the things that have kept me busy during the month of January.

1. Daybreakers - Another vampire film which was good, but could have done so much more with the story; 2. Up in the Air - George being George - a little disappointed with this film, didn't it live up to the hype and we have seen better mid life crisis films before i.e. Lost in Translation; 3. 3 Idiots - was boring and again another example of a film that did live up to the hype; 4. It's Complicated had some funny moments, but on the whole nothing special about it; 5. Sherlock Holmes was entertaining and thoroughly enjoyed as it didn't take itself seriously and finally 6. Un Prophete excellent performances, gritty story and well paced - I thought it was very good and deserved its Oscar nomination today.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Aicon Gallery is exhibiting some works by Raghu Rai. Very glad to have had the opportunity to see his work in London - highly recommend it.

Award winning play comes to London with a star cast and what a fantastic way to start the year. James Earl Jones, Adrian Lester and Sanaa Lathan were absolutely fantastic.
